The Walking Dead finale is tonight and I can’t wait to see some beautiful gory zombies and sexy head shots! *click click boom*

I love zombies and musicals, but never in my wildest dreams did I think someone would create a zombie musical! Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story is just what you’d image a zombie musical would be campy, bloody, funny and of course an obligatory “Thriller’ish” dance. If you liked Dr. Horrible or Reefer Madness then Rigamortis is definitely worth a shot (no pun intended… okay it was intended).
“After humanity quells an undead uprising, the last two remaining zombies pair up in search of sanctuary, but instead find love.
Rigamortis takes place shortly after humanity has put down a recent zombie outbreak. The last two zombies left “undead” are looking for their place in the world, while one lonely zombie hunter’s newfound fame and glory can’t fill the hole in his heart left by the recent loss of his now undead love. The characters are forced to confront zombies, angry mobs, double-barreled shotguns, and an ever-dangerous thing called love, until fate brings them all face to face in an explosive finale.[Rigamortismovie.com]”
This musical gives me a tinge of guilt now that I think back to every zombie I shot in the head assuming it wanted my brains but it might have just wanted… love. This 40 minute low-budget musical is available to watch in full length for a limited time via YouTube. Who knew the undead could carry a tune?!
I would revert back to the old-fashioned ways of *gasp* hand writing letters if they could be done on this too-cool-for-words zombie stationery. Not only are they gory but designed exceptionally well. I went through to mild bought of depression when I realized these weren’t for sale.

The holidays season is upon us and the hunt is on for the perfect gifts for our friends, family and most importantly for ourselves. This month I’ll be posting all sorts of geeky gifts to get for you and yours.
The first to be featured is the Zombie’s ‘Gorgeous and Gory’ 2011 Zombie Pinup Calendar created by the New Jersey Zombie Walk. Hot pinup zombie girls, what more can you ask for?! They only cost $20, you can order yours here.
“The bloodiest beauties of the Zombie Walk are crawling out of the Asbury Park debris and onto 12 titillating pages of post-apocalpytic planning in this limited edition calendar!
Be the first zombie on your street to have these lovely, lacerated ladies hanging on your wall!”
‘Gorgeous and Gory’
My Zombie Pinup also did a calendar in 2009 and 2010, you can see some of the images from their calendars below. Unfortunately, they do not seem to be doing a calendar this year but they make some great screen savers! If you want the 2010 calendar it’s only $3.99!
“Where beauty eats brains!”
The Walking Dead premiered last night and I couldn’t watch it because I was busy saving the princess with Mario (see slideshow below) so I’ll watch later today. The Walking Dead is based on the Robert Kirkman comic by the same name. I’ve been excited about this show since I first heard about it. Primarily, (if not only) because I love what AMC has been doing lately with TV and it has zombies in it and you already know how I feel about them.
I recently read The Waking Dead Compendium One and damn near cried at the end (don’t worry no spoilers). I always forget it is very common that people actually die in zombie apocalypses. It’s just hard to get used to when you come to love the characters so much. I highly suggest it to anyone, whether you read comics or not.
Now the character below is Michonne, she isn’t in the show yet and probably won’t be for this season. But all the readers know how absolutely bad ass Michonne is! She’s a sword wielding, zombie killing, the hardest of cores, one woman army! For an example of her bad assness look at this picture on how she first enters the comic. She is practically straight off a Tarantino film and I can’t wait until she is in the show.
More on The Walking Dead from Girl Gone Geek:
Here’s some pics of me and my friend for Halloween, on the 30th I was The Joker (Jamila Edition) and the 31st I was Luigi!
The highlight of NYCC, for me, was The Walking Dead Panel by far. Besides having a soft spot for all things undead, everything I saw and read about The Walking Dead tells me it will be another great television series. I recently started reading The Walking Dead Compendium One, by Robert Kirkman and I am officially obsessed. I read it for hours and couldn’t put it down, good thing I have a lot of The Walking Dead material to read since it’s been out since 2003.
The ING Theater was filled to capacity, if I hadn’t went in during the previous panel (which was M. Night Shaylaman) I wouldn’t have gotten in. The line was ridiculous and I heard people who couldn’t get in showed just how upset they were. At the panel is the comic book creator Robert Kirkman, producer Gale Anne Hurd (Aliens, The Terminator) and director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile). The main cast also showed up, but my battery died, typical. At the panel we saw an “exclusive clip” from about 6 minutes of when Rick first meets Glenn. Since mostly everything at NYCC I had seen on TV or online before from a previous con I was excited for something new.
One of my favorite moments at the panel was when the actor who plays Shane came out and the crowd booed him. He said how happy he was to hear that because at the previous cons they cheered for him and let’s just say the crowd was Team Rick Grimes, as they should be.
I was able to get three of the main cast, Kirkman, Hurd and Darbont to sign my comic of The Walking Dead!!! :) They were really nice about taking the time to sign comics and take pictures with the fan before they were rushed off to an interview.
Season 1 will have 6 episodes, the pilot will be 90 minutes long and the rest will be an hour. Hurd made it very clear that the only way season 2 will happen is how well season 1 is received. So if you are a fan of The Walking Dead series or just really excited for a new great show, watch it and watch it live (as best you can).
The Walking Dead airs on October 31st on AMC at 10pm. It will also air in 120 countries the same week it airs in the US!
Part of The Walking Dead Panel I recorded
Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer’s Body, United States of Tara) is set to produce the adaptation of the zom rom com (zombie romantic comedy) novel Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament by S.G. Browne. The screenplay was written by Geoff LaTulippe (Going the Distance). Rumor has it that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (newest Hollywood it-boy who deserves it) and Scarlett Johansson (who makes up for her lack of acting skills with curves and good looks) are going to star in the film.
Breathers info via Screen Rant:
“Breathers tells the tale of a regular man named Andy (presumably Gordon-Levitt’s role) who is resurrected and returns to the world of the living as a zombie. Society as a whole is prejudiced against Andy’s kind and the undead gentleman is therefore forced to find his way in a world that denies him even the most basic of human rights. Johansson would assumedly play Andy’s human love interest, Rita.”
Now if you still have a bad taste left in your mouth brain from Jennifer’s Body, remember Cody is only producing this zombie romantic comedy. The director is still up in the air so I hope that JGL and ScarJo will attract a prominent director.
PS- I Love Zombies!

I’m sad to announce that Zombie Week has come to an end here on Gurl Gone Geek. It was a blast finding all of the gruesome goodies to share with my zombie loving readers. Hopefully I’ve converted a few over to Team Undead (someone should make that a shirt). Because not only is the grass greener but it’s splattered with blood and brains! If not… oh well I know who’s NOT going to be joining my survivalist team when the Zombie Apocalypse happens… which should be any day now.
Just because Zombie Week is over doesn’t mean you can’t keep a little of the walking dead on your computer. Enjoy this very cool and creepy wallpaper. I plan on arranging all my icons on my desktop so it looks like the zombies are trying to grab them. It’s the little things you know? Get yours here and other zombie wallpapers.
