Squealing with excitement yet? It’s okay, I was too when I saw this photo.
It was love at first sight when I came across this picture a while back. It took me some time to find who created it but with the help of social networking @identity_no2located its creator by way of @BlogtorWho(thanks guys!).
This is the galactic version of the iconic photo of the sailor kissing the nurse on V-J Day in Times Square after WWII. The original was taken by Life magazine photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt. The stormtrooper, Tracey (TK9612 on Flickr), was approached by Kim Thomson at the Star Wars Celebration V convention in Orlando, Florida to help her recreate the famous photograph. The stormtrooper version was photographed by Billie Fenton and photoshopped by Kim’s father (who’s done a great job). See the pre-photoshopped version here.
The Devil’s Playground Ladies in LA bring us yet another geek infused Burlesque Show, this time it’s your favorite Sci-Fi women. They previously did a Star Wars show and Video Game girls show, which are also in the gallery. I hope they do anime girls next (Faye Valentine I’m looking at you!). And how about a male version for us geek girls?!
