Aled Lewis (Fatheed on Flickr) transported your favorite old school video game characters into the real world in some impressive photo manipulations. I get a special kind of nostalgia whenever I see old school video game characters. Chris Hardwick wore his Doctor Who/Back to the Future shirt on The Late Late Show! Check our his Flickr and website AledLews.com he also has a bunch of other great geek related art.

Your NES doesn’t like you cheating on it with Sega, and it made a song to let you know. This parody of Cee-lo’s song “F*ck you” was made by Inverse Phase, check out the rest of his Chip Tunes on his website.
“So what’s going on here? Well, the year is 1990. You’ve finally gotten a Genesis (or a Mega Drive, I suppose) from the toy store and your Nintendo has begun to collect a fair bit of dust. If it could talk (or sing) to you, what would it be saying right now?”

After watching recently reading and watching Scott Pilgrim vs. The World my nostalgia has been intensified. So I decided to dedicate this weeks Tattoo Tuesday to 8-bit and pixelated tattoos!
If you are interested in having me feature your geeky tattoo on a future Tattoo Tuesday feel free to email me at girlgonegeekblog[at]gmail.com.

The House of the Dead: Overkill (first-person rail shooter) published by Sega and made for the Wii. I know I know it isn’t new, it came out the beginning of 2009, but I didn’t have a blog then plus it’s zombie week so anything undead goes. I like this game it because it presents itself like a over-the-top Grindhouse flick and because it has a Guinness World Record for the most profane video game in history (189 F-bombs to be exact). I think if they ever made this a movie Samuel L. Jackson just has to play the character Detective Isaac Washington.
Game Informer ranked the dirty mouth cop Isaac Washington among the “Top 10 Heroes of 2009,” saying this about him:
“Foul-mouthed, uncompromising, hard-drinking, and unceasingly funny, Isaac Washington keeps everything grounded when the world is going crazy all around him. With tongue set firmly in cheek, Washington is a stereotypical career cop who can’t finish a sentence without a few expletives thrown in for color. He keeps the action going, and never fails to say what the player is thinking when the zombie outbreak gets out of hand.”
Have you played HD: Overkill? What did you think?
Check out its Grindhouse style trailer below.

Pharrell Williams loves Mario!
Here’s a pic of my (imaginary) boyfriend Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. and his iced out Mario mushroom and star jewelry! Clearly, these aren’t for sale.
You can even play a N.E.R.D. 8-bit game on their site!
Here’s some funny pics from College Humor giving our favorite video game characters a twitter and facebook.
Here we go! *Mario voice*
Facebook status updates:
These aren’t real twitter accounts unfortunately. If you know any game characters who have a twitter (i.e. some über-fan doing a really good job at pretending to be them) post it in the comments section!
