SNES Bed

This Super Nintendo Bed is yours… if you have $20,000.  This iCon bed is made by Hollandias and it features, “pairs Hollandias adjustable 3D mattress with a brand new foundation and custom headboard with iPad docking station and speaker system.”

It isn’t officially a SNES bed but it looks a helluva lot like one.

Gnarcade Video

From G4:

Knife Show’s snowboarding videos have always been amazing, but the vid posted last night surpasses all their past efforts. Directed by X-Play‘s own Mike Benson, “Gnarcade” mashes video game memes with snowboarding and skateboarding to create something guaranteed to drop your jaw.

Scott Stevens, Micah Hollinger, Chris Beresford, Tim Eddy, Ben Bogart and Casey Wrightsman provide the action and Ground Up provides the game-inspired soundtrack.”

Video Game Minimalism: Less is More

Less is more in this case.  My super amazing brother showed me some of these minimalist video game posters a while ago (pre-blog).  And since sharing is caring I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I think they are very cute and clever!  If I still lived in a dorm I’d have some of these posters all over the walls… well at least my side of the room.  You can buy some video game minimalist shirts here and buy some  posters on here and through the artists links.

Hardcore gamers will be able to recognize all of these posters.  BUT I provided the cheat code just in case.

The posters are made from: Justin Russo, Infinite Continues, Chris and Ashley Browning.

Fanboys don’t worry the next post I will do is on superhero minimalist posters.

Gamer Jewelry- Nintendo, 8-bit and Old School (Part 2)

Here goes part deux of the Gamer Jewelry series. This is one of the many parts of a long series of Nerdy Jewelry I will be doing because I am a girl and I like jewelry and also happen to like nerdy things as well. So this is a way to combine the two… kind of like a blog version of an attack combo WATA!

Oh BTW…

You’ll see a lot of 8-bit jewelry… this is not only because I think it’s cool but also because of the overwhelming nostalgia I get from anything and everything 8-bit.  You’ll also see a lot of Nintendo stuff, this is simply because I really like Nintendo. Lastly, please forgive me in advance for the cheesy lines you are about to read, I couldn’t help myself.

I could write some super corny line that replaces one of the words in some famous Star Wars quote with “triforce” but I won’t…

No pot breaking and bush cutting necessary to get these rupees!

“Fire Power!”

“It’s-a me Mario!”

“Sorry, Mario, but your princess is in another castle!”

Didn’t you just love the underwater music for Mario?!… la la la la… eek a Blooper!

When Video Game Characters do the Internets

Here’s some funny pics from College Humor giving our favorite video game characters a twitter and facebook.

Here we go! *Mario voice*

Facebook status updates:

Twitter!

These aren’t real twitter accounts unfortunately.  If you know any game characters who have a twitter (i.e. some über-fan doing a really good job at pretending to be them) post it in the comments section!

Geek out your Computer!

While habitually wandering the “geekery” section on etsy.com I found myself in a state of intoxication when I stumbled across a Zelda NES cartridge external hard drive.  Now I already had an pink external HD… but I simply couldn’t resist getting my hands on this amazing creation.

This is all thanks to 8bitmemory!  He makes old school vidya game lovers weep blue 8 bit tears of joy with his awesome video game cartridges hard drives.

He makes NES and Super NES hard drives, desk clocks, and USB thumb drives from Game Boy Advance games.  If you didn’t think that was cool enough he can make a custom hard drive from (nearly) any game you want!

Here’s my 8 bit wonder!

Just for kicks I got this Mario v. Donkey Kong thumb drive!

Visit his Etsy page http://www.etsy.com/shop/8bitmemory and get to ordering!
