*Mario voice* “Here we go!” This weeks PotW is also the design for the week-long contest I’m having. To see how you can win visit the CONTEST post.
The NMKL (National Mario Kart League) design was created by Rodrigo Ferreira, which combines sports logo design with my all time favorite racing game Mario Kart ( which is also the only racing video game I like). I think the combination is perfect considering the intense competitiveness MK can bring out of a player and the ritual victory dances after a win which are reminiscent of end zone dances after an impressive touchdown.
My brother and I spent an absurd amount hours and days playing Mario Kart on N64, the best in my opinion (this is no way related to the fact that I’m better on N64 than on other systems). You can already guess which was my favorite character to play, I’m partial to pink. Whether it’s the tracks or battle mode, no matter how many times you play it never seems to get old which is why Mario Kart will always hold a spot in my top favorite video games.
Rodrigo was kind enough to answer a few interview questions telling me about the inspiration behind NMKL, his favorite character and item from Mario Kart, as well as advice for aspiring illustrators and graphic designers.

I found these great Doctor Who posters on Geek-Art. They are made by Karma Orange, a French graphic designer. Check out his website for more great stuff!
Mini spoiler warning: Some may say the images contain spoilers, however, but in my opinion, the posters are less of a spoiler and more of just not “getting it”.
