I lost my 3DS a few months ago after I got Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I worry about the well-being of my town everyday.

When my earrings arrived in the mail it felt like Christmas!

Interview with Rachael of Treno Nights Etsy Shop:

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Rachael: My name is Rachael, and I live in Fort Worth, TX. I have a miniature dachshund and a silver german shepherd and I live with my husband. I am hopelessly addicted to video games… My husband got me into them when we met and I haven’t been able to stop since. I play anything from Little Big Planet to Resident Evil. I am an addict for sure. I sit in front of my computer WAY to much, I have an addiction to caffeine, and I have issues with procrastination.

How long have you been crafting and making jewelry?

Rachael: I have been crafting my entire life. My mom never did my school projects for me, and she would NEVER buy those kits that come with all the things you need. I was forced to go around the house and find things I could use in my project. As much as I would resent her some times for that, I owe her for my creativity. As for making jewelry that is a fairly new hobby of mine. I picked up polymer clay for the first time a little over a year ago. I was hooked immediately.

How did Treno Nights come to be?

Rachael: What got me hooked on clay was cell phone charms. I went crazy and was buying all sorts of licensed charms and turning them into jewelry. Then I discovered Etsy and saw what people were making out of clay. I rushed to Hobby Lobby and I bought a sample pack, ran home, and I made a cupcake and a digivice and I was sold. I knew that making charms that you can’t find anywhere else was what I wanted to do. I wanted to share with the world my creations, so I started a shop on Etsy. :D

Where did you get the name Treno Nights?

Rachael: Treno Nights is inspired by Final Fantasy IX. In that game there was a city named Treno. Specifically the Dark City Treno. In that city there are lots of auctions, games, and gambles. I took the name because taking a risk is a gamble, and sometimes you may seem lost in the dark. It seems a little cliche, but it works for me. Although most people don’t even think twice about the reference, it has special meaning to me.

What are you a fangirl for?

Rachael: Where to begin… Harry Potter, Kingdom Hearts, and Legend of Zelda. I would LOVE a crossover. :D

If you were on a deserted island what video game, book, movie and TV show would you bring?

Rachael: This is a really, really hard question. If I could have one of each I would choose Kingdom Hearts (I could always try to beat Sephiroth), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Dumb and Dumber, and for TV show I choose Mythbusters.

Where do you live on the internet?

Rachael: I do accept commissions, so if you don’t see something in my shop that you want, I can make it just for you.

Gourmet Gaming

Gourmet Gaming is Daniella Zelli’s yummy creation. She’s a been a gamer all her life and foodie as well, and had the deliciously brilliant idea to combine those two loves; and so Gourmet Gaming was born! Gourmet Gaming is “a website dedicated to food featured in video games. The idea is to replicate these foods in real life by creating recipes.”

On Gourmet Gaming Daniella includes recipes and directions if you’re in the mood to cook up some gamer grub for yourself! I know first hand that baking a replica of something isn’t always as easy as it looks but it was still fun and I’m sure you’ll have fun too! Check out the interview with gamer chef below and find out more about Gourmet Gaming, her game of the year and what she geeks out for!

Girl Gone Geek Blog Interview with Daniella Zelli Creator of Gourmet Gaming:

Girl Gone Geek: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Daniella: I grew up in Ireland and have been playing games since I was about 4 years old, the first console I owned was a Sega Mega Drive. I moved to London in 2006 and attended art school where I studied Illustration and for the past 3 years I’ve been living in Edinburgh as a freelance graphic artist and digital designer.

Grand Theft Auto IV – Cluckin’ Bell Fowl Burger

GGG: What is Gourmet Gaming’s origin story?

D: I had some friends over to play the amazing Deadly Premonition, I served some Sinner’s Sandwiches to eat while we played and I guess it grew from there! I also couldn’t find a job so it was the perfect project to occupy my time, I really didn’t think it would become so popular but I’m very happy it has.

The Sims – Key Lime Pie

GGG: Do you have any funny baking/cooking crafting stories?

D: I don’t really have any funny stories, more so chaotic ones that involve tears over runny strawberry compote and a seemingly endless night of making a Minecraft Cake icing template… It was worth it in the end though!

Minecraft – Cake

GGG: What have been some of your favourite dishes to make?

D: I loved making the Costume Quest ‘Creepy Treats’, they weren’t like anything else so it was fun to come up with ideas for what they might be – Double Fine are always so great with their imagination, it’s as if that game was made for Gourmet Gaming. But as long as it’s tasty, it’s my favourite.

Costume Quest – Pizza Sundae

GGG: What is coming up next for Gourmet Gaming?

D: I often can’t plan too far ahead with what I’m making . A lot of great requests come through or a game is released that changes what I had in mind. But for the 4 weeks coming up to Christmas I’ll be revealing festive gaming recipes so you can create a Christmas feast entirely from video game food – if you’re as crazy as me that is.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Sweet Roll

GGG: What are some of your favorite video game characters?

D: I was talking recently about my favourite game side-kicks actually, my top two being Homunculus (Shadow of Memories) and King Seeker Frampt (Dark Souls). I’ve been a life long fan of Lara Croft and love James Sunderland in Silent Hill 2. Also Saavedro in Myst III: Exile is completely awesome because let’s face it, he’s played by Brad Dourif.

Portal - The Cake is a Lie

GGG: Game of the year?

D: Definitely Dark Souls, it’s practically perfect in my eyes as far as games go. The story, the characters and the game-play – it’s a beautiful piece of work that I hope will be appreciated and reflected upon in years to come. A serious pinnacle in gaming history.

Golden Axe - The Meat

GGG: What else are you a fangirl for?

D: I love graphics novels; I’m a big fan of Dan Clowes and Charles Burns. We’re also almost overrun in our apartment with the amount of films we own, it’s like an episode of ‘Hoarders’ in here. I also read way too many Philip K. Dick novels.

Animal Crossing: Wild World - Birthday Cake

GGG: If you had to live in a video game for a month, which would it be and why?

D: I’d like to live in Viva Pinata. I could play with the animals and then whenever I got hungry I could smack one of those bad boys open and chow down.

Costume Quest – Mossy Log

GGG: Where can we find you in the interwebs?

D: Check out www.gourmetgaming.co.uk or become a fan on the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Gourmet.Gaming and if you’re willing to put up with me ranting you can follow me on Twitter @PeebyKo.

I’m also planning to have a little store with some merchandise and goodies in the near future so keep an eye out!

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Yeto’s Soup
