Geek-Art, my go-to for all things amazing, featured work from photographer Kevin Rozario Johnson and illustrator Jamie Sneddon. Johnson and Sneddon combined their forces and produced these truly spectacular series of 8-bitscapes.
More about 8-bitscapes from the artists:
“8-bitscapes is a concept created by artist & illustratorJamie Sneddon & photographer Kevin Rozario-Johnson.
For their first 8-bitscapes exhibition, they have brought together their two disciplines to create this stunning series of works.
With a ‘giant nod’ towards the world of 8-bit gaming, the artists have produced a series of 8, strictly limited edition prints. These thought provoking images re-imagine well loved, iconic retro digital characters in real life scenarios. Framing them forever as they munch, invade, race, battle and bleep their way around planet EARTTTTTHHHHHH!!

aka: Kong of the Jungle. The reason he was so mixed up was because he was missing home. A construction site is no place for a 500lb ape. Look at how happy he is now.

I may revisit this series later in the year, but for the time being this is the 12th and last in my collection ofVideo Games vs. Real Life images. I have a bunch more ideas, but I need to change it up a bit now. Thanks for the support! :)
Dammit. I gave him an umbrella when he was meant to be a blocker.
Less is more in this case. My super amazing brother showed me some of these minimalist video game posters a while ago (pre-blog). And since sharing is caring I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I think they are very cute and clever! If I still lived in a dorm I’d have some of these posters all over the walls… well at least my side of the room. You can buy some video game minimalist shirts here and buy some posters on here and through the artists links.
Hardcore gamers will be able to recognize all of these posters. BUT I provided the cheat code just in case.
Nintendo clearly triumphed at E3 this year. The Kinect (previously Project Natal) is cool and all and no one really seems to care about the PlayStation Move much. But we already knew about both of them so all they did at E3 was show us some gameplay.
There were rumors about Nintendo developing a 3DS so (no surprise there), BUT what did get me in a frenzy was the incredibly amazing list of 3DS games. The release date is up in the air because these guys just can’t seem to get it right. First it was announced to be released March 2011 but recently I heard October or before Christmas which makes the most sense.
When I heard rumors of a SuperScribblenauts I wondered what else could they add to the 22,802 words they already had. One word: ADJECTIVES!!! To put the cherry on top they also included combo words. Ever seen a “gentlemanly red raptor“? You will also be glad to know everything that was broken in the first Scribblenauts is fixed in the new one. I’m already giving myself a migraine trying to think of the most random yet extremely amazing adjective word combos for SuperScribblenauts.
Here’s the some of the games coming out on the 3DS that caught my eye:
DJ Hero® 3D
RESIDENT EVIL® REVELATIONS
SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV 3D Edition (name not final)
The Sims™ 3
HIDEO KOJIMA’S METAL GEAR SOLID SNAKE EATER 3D “The Naked Sample”
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle (name not final)
