Picture of the Week- ‘Ten and Wheatley’ and Interview with the Artist Rose Fox

Ten and Wheatley

Two of my favorite things at the moment (and in life) are Doctor Who and the video game Portal 2. Well geeks, dreams do come true! Tennant and Wheatley are the perfect mashup and it isn’t just because of their accents. Looking at this piece makes my imagination run wild, I can really see a DW episode taking place in Aperture Science. What a splendid episode that would be! Definitely a two-parter and then… oh there goes my imagination again, let me reign it back in.

The brilliant Rose Fox (yes I already asked her if her last name was really Tyler, she “claims” it isn’t) created ‘Ten and Wheatley’ and she makes a lot of other fan art from Supernatural, Good Omens and more which is featured in the gallery below. Check out the interview I had with her and read about where she got the idea for this weeks Picture of the Week, her favorite Doctor, artist and other geeky goodies. Also, Rose answers the most important question: cake or lemons?  Continue reading →

You all are fully aware of how much a massive Doctor Who fan I am. Where’s my (#DWlineCon peeps at?!). That’s some serious obsession right there!

My Facebook page and Twitter is practically a continuous love letter to Doctor Who. As some of you may know I’m in the process of catching up with Doctor Who. Last night I finished season 4 and literally can’t get that ending off my mind!  (SEASON 4 SPOILER ALERT) It’s also funny to mention that I was legitimately surprised about the Daleks I had to ask myself, “Really Jamila?! It’s ALWAYS the Daleks!”  My love for this show and the Doctor just seems to dramatically increase episode by episode. This past season I’ve been attempting to mentally prepare myself for life without Tennant knowing that his time is coming to an end. I anticipate a bought of depression to come along.

Current and soon-to-be Whovians we have Bob Canada to thank for the comprehensive infographic on Doctor Who and to all eleven Doctors, the TARDIS and the Sonic Screwdriver.

Beautiful Doctor Who Posters

I found these great Doctor Who posters on Geek-Art.  They are made by Karma Orange, a French graphic designer. Check out his website for more great stuff!

Mini spoiler warning: Some may say the images contain spoilers, however, but in my opinion, the posters are less of a spoiler and more of just not “getting it”.

Click here for some awesome Doctor Who tattoos I featured for my weekly Tattoo Tuesday posts.
