Geek-Art, my go-to for all things amazing, featured work from photographer Kevin Rozario Johnson and illustrator Jamie Sneddon. Johnson and Sneddon combined their forces and produced these truly spectacular series of 8-bitscapes.
More about 8-bitscapes from the artists:
“8-bitscapes is a concept created by artist & illustratorJamie Sneddon & photographer Kevin Rozario-Johnson.
For their first 8-bitscapes exhibition, they have brought together their two disciplines to create this stunning series of works.
With a ‘giant nod’ towards the world of 8-bit gaming, the artists have produced a series of 8, strictly limited edition prints. These thought provoking images re-imagine well loved, iconic retro digital characters in real life scenarios. Framing them forever as they munch, invade, race, battle and bleep their way around planet EARTTTTTHHHHHH!!
If you’d like to keep up to date with new 8-bitscapes pieces, exhibitions and general 8-bit geekery, then please click the links and follow us on Twitter & Facebook.”

This week PotW is a Pinup Princess Peach by Plunky Lump. I love her tramp stamp and how her face is 8-bit!
Dee and Ricky the twin accessory designers known for their famous LEGO heart pins, bow ties, cigarette pins, and Pac Man and so much more LEGO wonders (I featured them on my Pixel Jewelry Post).
Below is their very cool and colorful stop motion teaser video for their upcoming show “The Dee & Ricky Super Happy Fun Time Show” which is in production and will be released in the coming months. I’m not sure what the show will be about but it has anything to do with 8-bit/LEGO’s you know I’m all over it! It should be a super happy fun time, or at least a nostalgic time which is just as good.
[Video is made by Kenzo and thanks Mickey Factz for telling me about the video!]
Chronic Geek made me this awesome 8-bit version of me! I’ve decided to add it to my new “follow me on twitter” picture on the right. I think she did a great job and it’s super cute! I exchange made her a Princess Peach with pink and black hair. Check out her blog too and she’s on twitter!
So by now you know I love 8-bit things, so this post should be no surprise.
New York invaded by 8-bit creatures! PIXELS is Patrick Jean’s latest short film, shot on location in New York. I also heard that Adam Sandler bought the rights to make PIXELS into a movie, in 3D of course because that seems to be the thing to do.

Pharrell Williams loves Mario!
Here’s a pic of my (imaginary) boyfriend Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. and his iced out Mario mushroom and star jewelry! Clearly, these aren’t for sale.
You can even play a N.E.R.D. 8-bit game on their site!
Here goes part deux of the Gamer Jewelry series. This is one of the many parts of a long series of Nerdy Jewelry I will be doing because I am a girl and I like jewelry and also happen to like nerdy things as well. So this is a way to combine the two… kind of like a blog version of an attack combo WATA!
You’ll see a lot of 8-bit jewelry… this is not only because I think it’s cool but also because of the overwhelming nostalgia I get from anything and everything 8-bit. You’ll also see a lot of Nintendo stuff, this is simply because I really like Nintendo. Lastly, please forgive me in advance for the cheesy lines you are about to read, I couldn’t help myself.

I could write some super corny line that replaces one of the words in some famous Star Wars quote with “triforce” but I won’t…
No pot breaking and bush cutting necessary to get these rupees!
“It’s-a me Mario!”
“Sorry, Mario, but your princess is in another castle!”
Didn’t you just love the underwater music for Mario?!… la la la la… eek a Blooper!
I now pronounce you Mr. and Ms. Pac-Man

While habitually wandering the “geekery” section on etsy.com I found myself in a state of intoxication when I stumbled across a Zelda NES cartridge external hard drive. Now I already had an pink external HD… but I simply couldn’t resist getting my hands on this amazing creation.
This is all thanks to 8bitmemory! He makes old school vidya game lovers weep blue 8 bit tears of joy with his awesome video game cartridges hard drives.
He makes NES and Super NES hard drives, desk clocks, and USB thumb drives from Game Boy Advance games. If you didn’t think that was cool enough he can make a custom hard drive from (nearly) any game you want!
Here’s my 8 bit wonder!
Just for kicks I got this Mario v. Donkey Kong thumb drive!
