Dear Doctor, shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Honestly though I truly love this show. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I am serial obsessor (the first step), I have entirely too many favorite things that I can barely keep up, but ever since 9 walked out that blue box everything changed. I had an epiphany not to long before writing this post after I watched ‘A Good Man Goes to War’ and I realized that none of my other obsessions has given me the amount of sheer happiness that Doctor Who has time and time again.
In the near future I’ll take the time to spill my heart out in DW love letter in the form of a blog post. But until then I’ll stop before I get caught up and forget why I wrote this post to begin with. Free stuff! Threadless was generous enough sponsor this contest with not Hartnell but Troughton Doctor Hoo shirts! #seewhatididthere So a big thanks to them for that. The winners will receive the so-popular-it-sold-out-in-a-few-days shirt depicting all eleven doctors as adorable owls designed by Mallory Dyer.
Congratulations to the winners Yissel and Luke Johnson!
“It was my most recent boyfriend that introduced me to Doctor Who. A long time fan, after attending the premiere of “The Eleventh Hour” with him, I got to go through his dvd collection starting w/ the very first ever episode (gosh that owl is the spitting image of Hartnell). After we broke up, he took a trip to Japan and as luck would have it, there was an earthquake in the middle of his vacation. (you may have heard a little something about it). Coming back home was a terrible ordeal for him, (and part of a string of really bad experiences)…. Now that we’re back together–because he’s the love of my life, and I his–if I could have the TARDIS take me anywhere…. I’d go to Japan, just a few months ago, so he wouldn’t have to go through it alone.”
Twitter winner Luke Johnson @venort! Luke would have the TARDIS take him to “Barcelona. (the planet, not the place) and the year… 7777.”
Congratulations to you both if you haven’t already please email me your address at girlgonegeekblog-at-gmail-dot-com and your shirt sizes. Thank you everyone for entering! I wish I had a hundred shirts to give out but stay tuned to the blog for more contest. If you want to read everyone’s responses check out the Twitter responses here and the Facebook ones here.
