Zombie Sak: Survival Kit Giveaway

21 Oct

We’ve all had those conversations before. Oh you know the one where you and your friends discuss your zombie apocalypse weapon of choice, the safest place in their area you would go, even what skills you’d bring to your team. Because if you’re rolling with me, you better have a skill! (I can be the supply runner because I ran track in high school.)

We joke around about the zombie apocalypse, but honestly, who really knows? One day it could happen. The living dead may go by a different name, walkers, the infected, etc. But as Shakespeare once said, “A zombie by any other name will still eat your brains.”

Thanks to the folks over at Zombie Sak, you can be ready for the apocalypse at a moments notice. These survival kits are the real deal that will help you survive the end of the world.

Use the code girlgonegeek to get 5% off your next Zombie Sak order! (Valid until Dec. 5th)

GIVEAWAY! Two readers that comment with their zombie weapon of choice will get some Zombie Sak goodies!

Be sure to follow ZombieSak on Facebook and Twitter @ZombieSak!

Picture of the Week- The Walking Dead

1 Nov

The Walking Dead premiered last night and I couldn’t watch it because I was busy saving the princess with Mario (see slideshow below) so I’ll watch later today.  The Walking Dead is based on the Robert Kirkman comic by the same name.  I’ve been excited about this show since I first heard about it.  Primarily, (if not only) because I love what AMC has been doing lately with TV and it has zombies in it and you already know how I feel about them.

I recently read The Waking Dead Compendium One and damn near cried at the end (don’t worry no spoilers). I always forget it is very common that people actually die in zombie apocalypses.  It’s just hard to get used to when you come to love the characters so much.  I highly suggest it to anyone, whether you read comics or not.

Now the character below is Michonne, she isn’t in the show yet and probably won’t be for this season.  But all the readers know how absolutely bad ass Michonne is!  She’s a sword wielding, zombie killing, the hardest of cores, one woman army!  For an example of her bad assness look at this picture on how she first enters the comic.  She is practically straight off a Tarantino film and I can’t wait until she is in the show.

Picture of the Week is made by ElicaDragon on DeviantArt check out her DeviantArt here and her The Walking Dead art here.

End of Zombie Week & Zombie Picture of the Day (7/31)

31 Jul

I’m sad to announce that Zombie Week has come to an end here on Gurl Gone Geek.  It was a blast finding all of the gruesome goodies to share with my zombie loving readers.  Hopefully I’ve converted a few over to Team Undead (someone should make that a shirt).  Because not only is the grass greener but it’s splattered with blood and brains!  If not… oh well I know who’s NOT going to be joining my survivalist team when the Zombie Apocalypse happens… which should be any day now.

Just because Zombie Week is over doesn’t mean you can’t keep a little of the walking dead on your computer.   Enjoy this very cool and creepy wallpaper.  I plan on arranging all my icons on my desktop so it looks like the zombies are trying to grab them.  It’s the little things you know? Get yours here and other zombie wallpapers.

Zombie Week- Corpse Princess

31 Jul

Corpse Princess (Shikabane Hime) Parts 1 & 2 DVD is set to be released Sept. 14th with English Dubs.  Has anyone seen this before, what did you think?  Watch episodes here on FUNimation.

Summary via Mania.com

Plot Summary: Makina is dead, but she can’t let go of this world. She burned to death in a fire started by freaks that wouldn’t stay buried. She knows she doesn’t belong among the living, but that won’t stop her from hunting the rotting remains of those who refuse to die. She’s hell-bent on filling empty graves with the monsters that should be six feet under. Makina is a Shikabane Hime — a Corpse Princess — and it’s her job to finish off the undead leftovers haunting the living.

Another zombie apocalypse anime that I’ve been watching is High School of the Dead. If you can ignore the massive amounts of ecchi it isn’t bad so far.  I watch it on Anime Freak (sub only).

Zombie Week- Creepy Zombie Dolls

31 Jul

Shain Erin make these grotesque Zombie Dolls and she named them too which kind of creeps me out even more.  Well she didn’t name two of them so I decided to fill that responsibility.  She also makes much more unsettling dolls check them out here.  If you love these dolls so much you can buy one for yourself, some are for purchase on Etsy and run from $45-$300.
